Notice has been given by the Kouga Municipality of the process which has begun to establish the 2018 valuation roll for the properties in the Kouga  Municipal area.
The official municipal valuers will be collecting preparatory data in Kouga towns from 24 May to mid-July 2017.
Kouga Executive Mayor Elza van Lingen said the data collection would lay the groundwork for the compilation of the new General Valuation Roll for the period 2018 to 2023.
Properties will be valued according to their market value as at 1 July 2017.

The rates payable by all properties within this municipal area for the next 4 years, will be determined by  the values ascribed to properties during this process. The basis on which the rates are formulated once the valuations have been done are set down in the following Municipal Notification

Some general information about the compiling of this valuation roll:

2.DDP Valuers had been awarded the tender to compile the new roll. The data collectors are Tjaart Venter and Bernardt de Klerk. DDP valuers conducted the 2013/2014 Valuation Roll as well.

However, if someone knocks on your door and you are not certain if it really is them, you are entitled to call the Valuations Department at 042 200 8543 or 042 200 2157 so as to verify their identities before allowing them access to your premises.
